Evan & Company Fall Mantle Decor

Hey Y’all! Happy Wednesday. Can you believe it’s starting to actually feel like fall outside. I have to admit, I’m a horrible person when it comes to decorating for the holidays. I guess I’m always busy helping clients I tend to neglect my home and office. So this year, I decided I was going to jazz up our office mantle for the fall. It’s the focal point of our consultation space, so it need to POP.

I used a collection of pumpkins, pinecones, greenery and taper candles. Most of these things I had around the office, minus the pumpkins of course. I’m still trying to figure out what I used the gold candles for.  Maybe it will hit me soon. I know I collected the brass candle holders from different thrift stores around the area.

The pumpkins came home with me from my visit to Niceville, FL. If you’re in the area, stop by– the students at Crosspoint United Methodist host a pumpkin patch as a yearly  fundraiser. Of course if you can’t make it there, you can also check your local farmers market.

It’s a pretty simple set up. I promise anyone can do it.  Since it was going to be a focal point in our office, I wanted to keep with our brand colors; Grey and White. Luckily I had first dibs on those pretty grey pumpkins. They’re PERFECT. I used seeded eucalyptus and Italian Ruscus to soften the harsh lines of the pumpkins. I added some pinecones for texture and contrast. I also found some faux dusty miller laying around the office that I pick up from our local craft store and those it was another great touch of grey.

If you haven’t already pulled your fall decor out of the attic, hop to it. I had a blast being creative for a minutes yesterday morning. I Can’t wait to see what you come up with– If posting on social media use the hashtag #EGCfallmantle, I’d LOVE to see what you create.

Evan’s Favorite Things– Day 5

2015-12-14_0004 I know, I know. I’m a couple days behind in posting this. My deepest apologies. My trip to New Orleans was much more fast paced than I expected. Friday (the original day this post was scheduled for) was go, go go with a full day of site seeing, eating and a fancy wedding.

Speaking of New Orleans…Today’s Favorite Thing is one that I took with me on my trip. Every southern gentleman needs a monogrammed duffle bag, right? I LOVE my chocolate brown rolling duffle from You Name It! Their located in Montgomery, Alabama across from Faulkner University. The bag retails for $78.00. View More: http://nickdrollette.pass.us/egcchristmas Last but not least, and Possibly my most Favorite Thing… Greater by Steven Furtick, lead pastor of Elevation Church in North Carolina. Steven states that “most believers aren’t in danger of ruining their lives. They’re facing a danger far greater: wasting them”.  I couldn’t agree more. Often times we find ourselves getting stuck in boring, powerless life ruts and are mislead lead into thinking that’s what Christ has called us too. Thankfully that’s not the case.  “Baseline living is not okay. Not for a believer in Jesus. There’s a price to pay for Christian complacency” say Furtrick. The book expands the the biblical story of Elisha to give you the confidence to know that nothing is impossible with God, the clarity to see what step is next.

This book is a quick and easy read. It’s almost impossible not to read through the book in a couple of day. I had to pace myself so I could really think about the points and arguments he was making. If you’re looking for a book with some instant take home points that you can apply the moment you open this book, than this is the one for you. As I was reading it, I thought of several folks I know would benefit from the read.  View More: http://nickdrollette.pass.us/egcchristmas To enter the last day of Evan’s Favorite Things is simple. Patti, my stylist and owner of  Jair’s Salon and Spa in Prattville always keeps my hair looking great. I mean, my Mother and Father certainly blessed me with good hair genes, but Patti helps me take it to the next level. Like anything else, there’s a process and “Queenie” firm hold hairspray is a is a part of it. Ladies, Men… whoever you are, if you need a little extra lift this product is for you. You have to try it! View More: http://nickdrollette.pass.us/egcchristmas To Enter Evan’s Favorite Things is simple. If you were like the rest of America you were probably watching the Adele special on NBC last night. If you weren’t you can leave now. I watched it twice, it was that good. Today’s giveaway is one of the BEST things that happened in 2015. If you see me driving down the freeway, you’ll more than likely  catch me jamming out to Adele’s newest album “25”. It has been at the top of the charts for weeks and her single “Hello” broke every record possible in the music industry. It had the biggest Sales Week for a single since Elton John’s Princess Diana Tribute in 1997 and it was the first song ever to sell 1 million downloads in a week. I’m in love with every song on this album. I’ve sang my little heart out an even cried too. You won’t be disappointed. She just released tour dates for her North American tour next year. Who wants to go with me?  View More: http://nickdrollette.pass.us/egcchristmas To Enter Evan’s Favorite Things is simple.
