Evan’s Favorite Things: 2017

Most of you probably know by now, but I LOVE giving to others. It just makes my heart feel all warm and fuzzy. Who doesn’t love to see others smiles? With it officially being Christmas Eve! The wait is finally over– My 2017 Favorite Things are here. We took a year office, but I’m back with some of the BEST  products yet.

Oh, and just so we’re clear, these really are my most FAVORITE THINGS. It’s not just a random bunch of goodies I’ve selected and labeled “Favorite Things”. I couldn’t live without some of these products. Ok, maybe I could, but you know what I mean.

Up first is my ALL TIME FAVORITE Candle. This Archipelago “Positano” candle  retails for $19.50 and is sold locally at Candle Cabin in Montgomery or you can purchase online directly from their site.  If you know me, you know I am a candle snob. Just ask my roommates. The White Nectarine, Persimmon, Pomegranate key notes are just some of my favorite scents together. This is one of the only candles I burn at home and at my office. I have been know to buy an entire case at a time. I promise you want the disappointed.

Most of you are probably familiar with the movie “Wonder” starring Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson, but the book is even better. I cried and cried like a baby. My friend introduced me to this book about 2 years ago or so and I couldn’t put it down. If you don’t fall in love with Auggie something is wrong with you and you should probably see a doctor. Wonder tells the story about boy with facial differences who enters fifth grade, attending a mainstream elementary school for the first time. Every parent should read this with their kiddos. You will be encouraged by the message of hope that is in the book.  Yes, there is hope, always hope, and YOU can overcome what seems like insurmountable challenges. It’s ok to be different and remember to always “choose kind”.

My grandmother recently asked me “Why does your iPhone have a little knob on it?”,  I told her it was the best little knob there ever was. If you haven’t heard of a PopSocket, you’re probably living under a rock– Everyone has one. Originally they were indeed to be used with different iPhone Plus models, but more recently have almost become a fashion accessory.  They certainly make life easier when having a little mini iPad as a phone (iPhone 7 Plus)  They come in an array of colors, patterns and styles. They also have a car mount that the pop socket just slides down into for hands free driving. This little lifesaver retails for only $10.00.

Probably my ALL TIME FAVORITE THING OF FAVORITE THINGS. This product is so GOOD my hair stylist started carrying it in her salon. Mister Pompadour is one of the most under rated mens hair product lines out on the market. I don’t leave home with using these products. From the Peppermint Shampoo and Conditioner to the texture powder and beeswax sculpting putty,  if you are in need of a gift for the fella in your life look no further, this is it. Guys, you have to try this product. The set retails for $70.00.

Raise your hand if you turn your pillow over 100 times through the middle of the night so you can lay our head on the cold side?!? I know I do, and if you do too then this is the pillow for you. The Malouf  Carbon Cool pillow retails for $239.00 and is worth every penny. It’s made of graphite-infused memory foam which helps“creates a pathway that naturally moves heat away from the body” causing the pillow to remain cool at all times. I take it with me everywhere. I don’t travel without it.

We’ll Miss You Sharon

Sharon, Oh Sharon. What are we going to do without you!?

Yup folks, you heard right. She’s leaving. Well, she’s actually officially gone. She celebrated our 50th wedding with us this past weekend and went out with a bang. She will never forget her last wedding at Evan and Company, it was 100 degrees, literally.  2015-06-14_0008 My name may be on the t-shirts and van, but it’s gals like Sharon that really make Evan and Company a success. Sharon has been with me since day one. From photo shoots, weddings and everything in between I don’t know what I would’ve done these last 2 years without her. 2015-06-14_0002 Sharon and her husband are moving back “home” to Headland, Alabama. Both of their Mothers are facing some health setbacks and they mutually felt it was time for them to be closer. I tried to talk her oldest daughter into having a kiddo so they would be more inclined to stay in Montgomery. It didn’t work.  2015-06-14_0005 2015-06-14_0004 Shar-bear (that’s what we call her around the office. You can thank Chandler for that one!) has truly been like a 2nd Mom to not only me, but everyone on our team. Though we don’t always listen, it doesn’t stop Momma Sharon. Her brain is packed with cheesy jokes, heartfelt words and a wealth of wisdom.  2015-06-14_0003 We’ve shared lots of memories with Sharon but one of my most favorite moments…. 2015-06-14_0009 Our team photo shoot with Aubrie. It’s not everyday a gal gets professional hair and makeup. You should’ve have seen her getting all glammed up, you would’ve thought she was going to prom. 2015-06-14_0007

I never imagined that I would cross paths with an individual like Sharon, but I’m certainly glad they did.

Thank you for everything you do in helping me fulfill my dreams in life. I couldn’t do what I do without strong team players like you. You inspire me to keep going, push me to be creative and yell at me when I book 3 weddings in 1 weekend but I wouldn’t change it one bit. You will be missed tremendously but of course not forgotten. Answer your phone when I call to talk. 😉

Love You!

This holiday season has been nothing but a blurry rush. I honestly don’t remember everything being so GO, GO, GO in years past. My apologies for not staying on top Favorite Things. But no worries, I am here and ready to give.

I LOVE a good pair of graphic socks and in honor of our “guys night” this past weekend with consisted of a 2am run to Krispy Kreme, I figured these socks were perfect for today’s giveaway. These doughnuts socks aren’t a fancy name brand or anything special, but they are some of my FAVORITES. They retail for $3.99 at Target. Isn’t that a steal?  2014-12-21_0001 You’re in luck today, NOT ONE but TWO giveaways. This candle from Anthropologie is everyone’s Favorite. I know tons of folks who burn the volcano scent. Once you burn this scent, I promise you won’t want to burn anything else. It’s AMAZING. They retail for $28.00 and I promise, it’s worth every penny.  2014-12-21_0002 To Enter #evansfavoritethings it’s simple, all you have to do is Subscribe to my blog (on the right hand side of the blog homepage under the “Video” section, make sure you click the confirmation email or it doesn’t count ) AND then pop back on over here and leave a comment in the post. Favorite Things 2014

Every time I think about “Favorite Things” this photo immediately pops into my head.  Oprah-Car-Giveaway-4 I remember watching that episode of “Oprah” just like it was yesterday. Mom and I looked at each other in shock and said, “OMG, She just gave everyone a car!”. Though Oprah is the queen of Favorite things, it’s always fun compiling my little list to share with you folks. There won’t be any Kate Spade Bags, Rolex Watches or refrigerators but I can assure you my Favorite Things aren’t just a random bunch of gifts I’ve selected and labeled “Favorite Things”. I couldn’t live without some of these products. Well , Ok, maybe I could, but you what I mean.  2014-12-03_0001 So over the course of 7 Days, I’ll be posting a different Favorite Thing each day and they could be yours! Who doesn’t love free goodies, right? 😉

Today’s giveaway… Chipotle. I don’t know what I did before they decided to open a franchise in Montgomery. I eat there once I week, at least. I don’t know what it is, but I LOVE it. That brown rice and chicken bowl gets me EVERY TIME. Oh and that guac.. THE BEST! No even lying. Of course since it’s one of my Favorite Things I had to share it with all of you. This Chipotle gift card is loaded with $15.00 ready for dinner. If you love Chipotle just as much as I do, follow the instructions below and it could be yours!  2014-12-03_0002 To Enter #evansfavoritethings it’s simple, all you have to do is Subscribe to my blog (on the right hand side of the blog homepage under the “Video” section, make sure you click the confirmation email or it doesn’t count ) AND then pop back on over here and leave a comment in the post.
