Rachel + Luke

Laura here! Evans really AWESOME new assistant. YES! Evan has a new assistant, and YES I rock.

Weddings are one of my favorite things to watch.  The flowers, the music, the colors, all of it put together to specifically describe that couple, the journey they have had together, and the one they are about to encounter. NOW, I get to watch how they are put together by the COOLEST wedding planner around.  Evan has true talent in capturing each bride’s personality and making her day perfectly fit for her.

Rachel and Luke’s wedding was immaculate.  It was a true classic southern wedding, from their church ceremony to a gorgeous reception at the country club.  Rachel’s bouquet was breathtaking with her ivory and white, lace dress… and who doesn’t LOVE lace? With the guys fancied up in their tuxedos and the bridesmaids in their flowing, floor length dresses, this whimsical wedding was an absolute dream. Of course we couldn’t do what we do without a team of FANTASTIC Vendors. Thanks Guys! You truly helped make The Hall’s wedding day what they dreamed of!

Michael and Elyse

Ok! Before I begin I must warn you– this couple is SMOKIN’ HOT! Ok you’ve been warned….

I remember sitting down to meet with Elyse, her Mom and best friend Amanda at Starbucks (pre- office days) just like it was yesterday!  The entire meeting I was praying in my head that she would hire me. Why? They’re genuine personalities. From the moment I met Elyse and Mrs. Cindy I knew I wanted to work with them. Not only because  it was going to be a “good wedding”, but I knew I would be blessed in return.

The Darnell family is pure joy. I don’t think I have ever laughed harder, cried with someone and been mad all in the same day. Mr. Noel and Mrs. Cindy wanted nothing but the best for their daughter’s big day and it certainly showed. Elyse, her brother and sister are lucky to call them parents. I can’t say it enough, but they’re two of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet. Oh, and Mrs. Cindy makes a mean strawberry cake. I’ve already but in an order for my birthday! 😉

Welcome to Darnell Mountain.

Nick + Elizabeth

Better late than never, right? Nick and Elizabeth said “I do” this past September and I couldn’t been more thrilled to be a part of their day!  Nick and I have been friends for several years and when he asked me to be a a groomsmen and stand on his side for their special day I couldn’t decline.

Not only did I have the pleasure of being in the wedding, I was privileged enough to help dream up this beautiful day! If you know me you know yellow is my FAVORITE color and I was super pumped when Elizabeth told me she wanted to use yellow throughout the wedding. Though it was an Alabama scorcher, everything turned out beautifully. Happy Bride and Groom = Happy Planner! Thanks again for letting Me be a part of your special day, but more importantly thanks for being you. I am blessed to call you guys friends and a better person because of it. I look forward to watching what the Lord does through you guys in 2014 and years to come!

Below are a few shots from the wedding that are some of our favorites! Josh Moates of Kim Box photography KILLED IT! The images are stunning. Nick and Elizabeth are so lucky to have these beautiful images they will treasure forever.

Nick got Elizabeth a film camera as a wedding gift. I think it’s safe to say she was more than thrilled. You can see some pictures from their honeymoon over on their blog.

Not to toot our horn, but I LOVED Elizabeth’s Flowers. The color pallet is stunning. Look at those Garden Roses, aren’t the gorgeous? Her accent color was navy blue, so we added pops of that navy and white striped ribbon everywhere.

The Bridesmaids bouquets were  smaller versions of the Brides. The ingredients for both the Brides and Bridesmaids bouquet’s were Yellow Garden Roses, Yellow “Turtle” Roses, Billy Balls, Silver Brunia, Ranunculus and Dusty Miller.

Southern Styled Shoot

Oh how I love this shoot–  It’s just full of Southern goodness. I remember when Jennifer text me, it feels like it was just yesterday. We had a blast pulling this shoot together.  These photos were actually shot back in December. YES! December, you might think its freezing outside, but remember…we are in Alabama. It could be 100 degrees one day and 30 degrees the next. Mother Nature is so wishy washy around here.

Styling a shoot is like the “thing to do” these days. It’s a way where you have complete control over the environment that you are shooting and make sure you get the images you have imbedded in your brain. Jennifer knew she wanted images that she could use on her new site and reflected a southern style. I think we accomplished just that.

We found a local barn that was PERFECT for what we were doing. A little burlap draping, some whiskey barrels and you’ve got the start of a true Southern Wedding.

The Groom’s attire is a PERFECT example of mixing High and Lows– His suit & Button Down came from The Gap and his Bow Tie is Ralph Lauren from Dillards.

I envisioned something airy for the brides bouquet. We used Seeded Eucalyptus, Snap Dragons, Blue Mountain Thistle, Roses and Yellow Ranunculus to create this look.

Our beautiful Model Autumn came to the shoot rocking her cowboy boots– They totally worked with what we were doing, so we used her boots instead of the ones we borrowed from a local department store.

I guess the reason I have never worked with horses was because I have heard so many things that have gone completely wrong, but with a few phone calls we managed to pull a few strings and one of the horse trainers was kind enough to come out and spend the afternoon with us. I LOVE the way these few images turned out!

No Southern Wedding is complete without the PERECT Favor, and we created something that any guest would be silly not to want to take home with them– Jelly Jars with homemade strawberry jam. The jars also acted as their place card at each table. The table centerpieces are always some of my favorite things. We used recycled pallets to make these wooden boxes. My grandfather was so kind enough to make them for us. I spy yellow striped straws– you know we had to have those! 😉

and finally, the getaway car! isn’t it AWESOME?!?! They car itself was enough to turn heads, but we wanted to jazz it up a bit more and add a few extra special touches. What do ya think?

Last but not least, no photo shoot is complete without a few fun behind the scenes shots! (Yes! I am spraying hairspray on the cotton! Gotta make sure it stays in place. Jennifer wanted to incorporate cotton so we put it in the Large focal arrangements on either side of the entrance.)

I seriously couldn’t have made this shoot come to life without the FANTASTIC team I had working with me.
