We’re nearing the end of my FAVORITE THINGS giveaway and I don’t want it to stop! I LOVE waking up to blog comments. I’ve even had people text me and ask me what the next days giveaway is. I know you’re committed when you text me. 😉 It’s been SO MUCH FUN!!

Don’t forget there is still time to enter to win. The details and “rules” are at the bottom of each post!  Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3 | Day 4

If you follow my blog on a regular basis, you know I am a HUGE Mark Batterson fan. I have read most of his books and most recently The Circle Maker. I posted about it here. While I was away this past summer at a conference I had the pleasure of meeting him and getting a signed, early release copy of his Newest book, “All In”. The book is a challenge to Christians to truly follow Jesus with all you have and all you are. Is there anything stopping us from fully surrendering our entire lives to God? Are our dreams His dreams? Are our plans His plans? Is my heart and the desires of my heart fully consecrated to Him? A couple of my favorite quotes from the book:

“I know some people who have been saved for twenty-five years, but they don’t have twenty-five years of experience. They have one year of experience repeated twenty-five times”

“There comes a moment in our lives when enough is enough. The pain of staying the same is greater than the pain of change”

If you are looking for a new read or if you feel God is challenging you to take a huge step of Faith Mark’s new book is for you!

  6. I’d love to read the book. Found your blog while reading Layla’s. Love your cookie jars!

  7. I have been following The Lettered Cottage and saw her post about the cute Christmas scenes you two created in clear cookie jars. They are really fun. I especially like the manger scene. Simple and makes a great statement piece.
I hope I win the book. I will be looking for “The Perfect Circle” and will see if it is right for my bible/book/study group that meets each Wednesday evening. I am anxious to read it as my family has been through tough times. My son in law is part of the initial lay offs of the recession and, but for a months time ( the contract was lost, last hired, first laid off) in two years, has been unemployed. They are living in my living room. I just changed offices for my employer and cannot go home for lunch any longer. It gives me quiet time to read or crochet, this will work out well for me to read during my lunch hour.
I am sure that “All In” would be great for all of us, to push us forward out of our comfort zone and into more service for our King and Savior.
I am excited to follow your blog. Merry Christmas!

  13. Will definitely check out The Circle Maker-sounds like it’s just what I need for an attitude adjustment to start the New Year! Definitely hope I win All IN.

Since you do Wedding Planning, have you read Jason Wright’s books, The Wednesday Letters and The Wedding Letters? They are fantastic. Although both are fiction, they are inspiring. In the Wednesday Letters, right after their parents die unexpectedly the same night, the grown children return to the inn their parents own. In preparing for the funeral, they find and read boxes of letters that their father wrote to their mother every Wednesday for the 50+ years of their marriage. In the Wedding Letters, when one of the adult children marries his childhood sweetheart and they stay to run the inn started by his parents, all the neighbors and his parents’ long-time friends write letters with bits of advice to the couple. Some of the letters reveal interesting things about the parents that the children had no clue about. I apologize because I know my descriptions don’t do the books justice. Jason Wright is a Christian author who also wrote the Christmas Jars. If I ever marry again, I am definitely going to insist that we do”wednesday letters” to each other. The Wednesday Letters plot is riveting-I had to stay up until 2:30 AM in order to finish it.

  14. I loved The Circle Maker. It so changes the way I look at how I pray for things in my life and how I believe God for those things. It would be a great book to read at the beginning of the year as we tend to make resolutions. All In sounds great. I will be adding it to my “to read” list!

  15. wow. this sounds like a book i might need.

  16. Kim Judice says
